iBlueText in ChatGPT and Claude

Connect your iBlueText account to ChatGPT, Claude or another AI assistant, then just ask: "text everyone who replied yesterday", "how did Tuesday's campaign do?", "which of these numbers are iPhones?". The assistant works through your own iBlueText account, lines and contacts.

Connect it

Server address: https://ibluetext.com/mcp. You sign in to iBlueText and click Allow; there's no API key to copy.

Claude

  1. In Claude, open Settings › Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
  2. Name it iBlueText and paste https://ibluetext.com/mcp as the URL.
  3. Click Connect, sign in to iBlueText and click Allow.

ChatGPT

  1. In ChatGPT, open Settings › Apps. Search for iBlueText once our app is listed. Until then, turn on Developer mode under Advanced settings and create an app with the URL https://ibluetext.com/mcp.
  2. Sign in to iBlueText and click Allow.

Other assistants and tools that support MCP connect with the same address. Developers who prefer an API key can use our ibluetext-mcp package or the REST API.

Things to ask

  • "Which of these numbers are iPhones? +1 813 555 0142, +1 727 555 0199"
  • "Text +1 813 555 0142: Hi Sam, your order is ready for pickup."
  • "Send 'Hey, is this {first_name}?' to this list as a campaign" (paste the list)
  • "How did my last campaign do? Who replied?"
  • "Show me today's replies and tell me who sounds interested."
  • "Pause the AI in the conversation with +1 727 555 0199, I'll take it from here."
  • "Add a quick answer: when someone asks about hours, reply We're open 9 to 6, Monday to Saturday."

What it can do

  • Get account balance (get_balance, read only): Show the iBlueText account's remaining lookup credits, free allowances and each line's usage today.
  • List sending lines (list_lines, read only): List the account's sending lines (phone numbers): status, today's new-contact limit and usage per channel, health and send window.
  • Check which numbers are iPhones (check_iphones): Check which phone numbers are on iMessage (iPhone). Uses the account's lookup credits. Waits briefly for results; if the check is still running it returns a job id to look up later.
  • Get iPhone check results (get_iphone_check_results, read only): Get the status and results of an iPhone (iMessage) check by job id.
  • Send a text message (send_message): Send one iMessage or SMS to one person from the account's own number, with optional attachments, iMessage effect, quote-reply or scheduled time. channel auto = iMessage for iPhones, SMS for everyone else. Needs an active sending line.
  • Get message status (get_message_status, read only): Get the delivery status of a sent iMessage or SMS by id (queued, sent, delivered, failed with the error).
  • React to a message (react_to_message): Put an iMessage reaction (tapback) on a message someone sent: love, like, dislike, laugh, emphasize or question (prefix - to remove). Takes the message_id of an incoming message, or to (a phone number) for their latest message.
  • Send a campaign to a list (create_campaign): Send one message to a whole list of people, like the Campaigns page. Opt-outs and duplicates are removed; every {merge} field must exist on the recipients or nothing is sent and the reason is returned. channel: imessage, sms, auto (checks each number, then iMessage or SMS) or whatsapp (warm-up limits apply and anyone who never replied to the last 3 WhatsApp messages is skipped).
  • List campaigns (list_campaigns, read only): List recent campaigns with id, name, channel, status, total, sent and replies.
  • Get campaign results (get_campaign, read only): Get one campaign's results: sent, delivered, read, failed, waiting, held by daily limits, replies, reply rate and any skipped note.
  • Pause or resume a campaign (pause_or_resume_campaign): Pause or resume a running campaign.
  • Send a WhatsApp message (send_whatsapp): Send a WhatsApp message from the account's WhatsApp number. Over the number's daily new-contact limit it waits and sends automatically. Someone who never replied gets at most 3 messages.
  • Get WhatsApp message status (get_whatsapp_status, read only): Get the status of a WhatsApp message by id (queued, sent, delivered, read, failed), and why it is waiting if held.
  • List WhatsApp numbers (list_whatsapp_numbers, read only): List the account's WhatsApp numbers with warm-up day, today's new-contact limit and usage, reply rate and health.
  • Read conversations (list_conversations, read only): Read two-way text conversations per contact (messages in and out, channel, status, attachments) with the contact's fields, opt-out and lead score. By default only contacts who replied. Pass phone for one person.
  • Pause or resume AI in a conversation (set_conversation_ai): Pause or resume the account's built-in AI auto-replies in one conversation so a person can take over.
  • List quick answers (list_quick_answers, read only): List the account's Quick answers: keyword auto-replies that answer common questions automatically.
  • Add or change a quick answer (save_quick_answer): Add a Quick answer (keywords, reply, match contains or exact), or change one by id: active false turns it off, delete true removes it.
  • Get a contact (get_contact, read only): Get one contact record by phone: fields, tags, opt-out, last activity and lead score (0-100 with hot, warm or cold).
  • Create or update a contact (update_contact): Create or update a contact: set fields, add or remove tags (a tag can start an automatic follow-up sequence) and opt-out. Set opted_out false only if the person asked to hear from the business again.
  • List follow-up sequences (list_sequences, read only): List the account's follow-up sequences (automatic drip messages that stop when the contact replies).
  • Start or stop a sequence for a contact (enroll_in_sequence): Enroll a contact in a follow-up sequence (skips opted-out or already enrolled people), or stop it for them with stop true.

Safety

  • Sending tools are marked as actions that reach real people, so ChatGPT and Claude ask you to confirm before they send.
  • Your normal limits still apply: daily new-contact limits per line, opt-outs (STOP) and WhatsApp warm-up. The assistant can't get around them.
  • The assistant can't buy credits or plans, see your card or see your API keys. If something needs more credits or a line, it tells you, and you add them in your dashboard.
  • Only the account owner can connect an assistant.

Disconnect

Delete the "ChatGPT (connected app)" or "Claude (connected app)" key in Integrations › API keys, or disconnect iBlueText inside the assistant. It stops working immediately.
